Here are some more passages from the Bible that conservative Christians love to hate. I taught Christian students about them back in 1990.
“The Earth mourns, the world languishes, the high heavens languish with the Earth. The Earth is polluted through the touch of its inhabitants, because they have transgressed the laws and broken the covenant. Therefore a curse has devoured the Earth, and its inhabitants have paid the penalty.”
“On that day I will make a covenant with them, with the beasts of the field and with the birds of the air, and the reptiles of the ground; and I will sweep away the bow, the sword, and war from off the face of the land; and I will make them to lie down in security.”
The inhabitants of Judah were carried into captivity “until the land had enjoyed its sabbaths. All the days of the desolation the land kept sabbath, to complete seventy years.”
